Vionville

VIONVILLE, a village of Lorraine, between Metz and the French frontier, celebrated as the scene of the battle of Vion - vale (Rezonville or Mars-la-Tour), fought on the 16th of August 1870 between the French and the Germans (see Metz and Franco-German War).
