Kaffirs - Comments
From LoveToKnow 1911
This is a very interesting story. In the Atlas mountains in north Africa lives a small band of people called the Kaffirs, pronounced Italic textKa-fee-rs. They are blond with pale skins and are said to be the remnants of Alexander the Great's harem. Being the only people in the entire north Africa who consume alcohol and pork, they live as outcasts, totally self-sufficiently and only going into the city, very occassionally to replenish stock. They are called heathens or savages by the people in north Africa. The word was later used by the white media to label black people heathens or savages since they had their own religions practices. Later, people came to confuse the word to mean 'black', but note that the original Kaffirs are pale with blonde hair, just like Alexander the Great.
