John Pinkerton, American Patriot, fighter in the Battle of Trenton and American Revolution, was Antiquarian, Map 'n Chart creator, Author, Postmaster of the City of Trenton, New Jersey, was born 1758 in edinboro, scotland. He had two brothers, (the names of which are yet tba) (as are the names of his neices and nephews), two wives, and an unknown, unspoken about lived in Paris between 1802 - 1806 and wrote; the Recollections of Paris 1802-5. He competed with, Smith, Tompson and McTaggart in Map 'n Chart Making -- leading the way with his ""The Best of the Times"" map in 1809 of Asia, Asia Minor, Turkestan 'n Japan. He is accredited with inspiring Puccini's version of the Lt. Pinkerton who left lonely many a heart of Japanese women. Mr. Pinkerton is accredited with the writing of not only; ""The Greatest Voyages and Travels of the World"" but with an additional ""The Greatest Voyages and Travels in America"". He is buried near New Jersey's **Mercer Cemetery** since March of 1826.
