Chandragupta Maurya - Comments
From LoveToKnow 1911
The history of India as mentioned here for Chandragupta Maurya is absolutely wrong and without any substance. Chandragupta was taught by a legendry Brahman called Chankaya in one of the greatest univercities of that time called as Takshila. Thereafter, when Alexander invaded India, Chankya along with whole army of his pupils collected all the kings of northern India, whose leader was Chandragupta and forced Alaxender's army to take a retreat. Chandragupta never encouraged Alexander. Also, he then attached Magadh and overthrown an autocratic and barbarious kingdom of Nanada Dynasty and then controlled whole of India. He married daughter of Nanda and establish rule over most of India. He is considered as the first worl leader to astound the principals of democratic government and his government was governed by the most famous treaties in Economics and governance called as Kautilya Arthshastra written by Chanakaya, his Guru which is considered even today as the best written document on governance and economy.
Chandragupta was never an autocratic ruler as mentioned in the article. YOur artciles are deviod of any truth.
