SIR GASTON CAMILLE CHARLES MASPERO' (1846-1916), French Egyptologist (see 17.848), died in Paris June 30 1916. During his second term of office as director-general of the Service of Antiquities at Cairo he was made an hon. K.C.M.G. (1909). He retired in 1014.
